Light-INSPIRED, SToryTelling PHotography

original-43 copy

Hi and thank you for stopping by! I can't wait to learn more About you, but i know you first need to know A bit about me...

What's my inspiration?

I love to work with children -- I feel they are the most free-spirited with their emotions and approach to life (and pretty hilarious, too). My own four children inspire me to pick up my camera almost daily!

You'll also see many of my images focus on the parent-child and sibling connections. I like to think of these images as not only treasures for you to enjoy, but gifts for your children when they are older.

How do I run a session?

My ideal photo combines an emotion, the moment and the light in a way that makes you pause and want to take it in. That's my goal anyway!

To achieve this, sunlight often determines where I shoot at a location. But your special and heartfelt moments determine WHAT I shoot.

To get these moments, I'm guiding you every step of the way and giving ideas and cues. I don't expect you to feel natural right away with a camera on you. I certainly don't!

What did I do before Photography?

Before diving into the business of family and child photography 5 years ago, I owned a small advertising firm with my husband and worked as a writer for ads, websites, magazines and books with photography just being a hobby. I’m pretty sure this creative background has helped me with my approach to storytelling for families.

What's the best part?

The most rewarding part of this job is to receive an email from a mom, who is almost (or actually) crying because she can’t believe someone was able to capture what makes her family and children so special. It’s the email I always strive to receive because I know how meaningful a keepsake like that can be.

Thank you again! I know you have a lot of choices when it comes to who you select to capture this time in your life and preserve these fleeting moments. It's an important decision and I'd be honored if you trusted your memories with me. -Samantha
